poetry, theory, politics, philosophy – a collaborative workshop on civic forms with Lester Spence & others
Objective: To construct manifestos of civic identity for our time; to give some depth-discourse as antipode to the surface disrespect-course of the national sound-byte stage
Description: This two day think-in will bring together a number of well known poets, cultural critics, and thinkers both regionally and nationally to go take on the challenges to being political in our time and place. The goal will be for participants to work to craft their own civic focus more reflectively over the day, issuing in “one minute manifestos” that will be published by Punctum Books and GtK Press: One Minute-Manifestos: the RNC Edition.
