Computers are getting faster and devices are getting smaller. The video below discusses the main highlights of the phenomena that occur in your brain and in your laptop that you are using to watch the video. Discover some of the differences to reveal why I believe your brain is far superior than a laptop despite the capabilities technology is able to do!

Ted Talks: Kwabena Boahen on a computer that works like the brain

Philosophical Engineering Quintessential Knowledge:

This video brings up a main topic in the discussion of brain vs. mind today. Can we create a computer to think (mind ~ mental events) and act (brain ~ material events) like you do? The fastest computer in the world mentioned in the video computes 10^16 bits/second and uses the same amount of energy as 1,200 households as opposed to your brain which computes close to that rate with the amount of energy in a laptop. The differences not only are in the energy consumption, but also the differences in computing: a computer being similar to a bottleneck (100 people exiting one door of a room at once) and your brain similar to a network (people connecting on the internet).
